Absa Premiership strugglers Baroka will this week continue with their assessment of former South African junior international defender Luvhengo Mungomeni.
Word from the Limpopo club is that though he has been impressive at training, they want him to play in a friendly match before making any decision.
Mungomeni arrived at Baroka last week after nothing came out of the time he spent at Highlands Park, where he trained for a month.
What has elongated the 32-year-old’s assessment is the fact that he has only made a single substitute appearance in competitive football – which was last season for Moroka Swallows in the National First Division – since a horrific knee injury in March 2015.
Bakgaga have the second worst defence in the PSL this season and it is believed that if they complete the signing of Mungomeni then their survival mission might improve with 10 games remaining.
Mungomeni has also previously played for Bush Bucks, Black Leopards and Mamelodi Sundowns since breaking into the professional ranks 12 years ago.
