Ajax Cape Town newcomer Sedwyn George aims to better his performances from last term and help the club win a trophy in 2017/18.

George earned a move to the Urban Warriors after claiming the NFD Golden Boot with 20 goals for Royal Eagles, which included three hat-tricks.

The 25-year-old previously plied his trade in the ABC Motsepe League, while he is also a former South Africa futsal international.

“It is good to be here at Ajax Cape Town, I am really enjoying the environment and the facilities here are the best,” George is quoted as saying on Ajax’s website two weeks into pre-season.

“Pre-season has been tough but it’s part of the job as I am putting in hard work which will be beneficial in the long run. I am gelling well with the guys, enjoying every minute here and it feels like I have been here for a long time.”

He added: “Football is a game of pressure, all I need to do is work hard and all the pieces will fall together. My goal for the season is to better my performance from last season and win some silverware with the team.”
