FC Barcelona returned to winning ways in LaLiga with a 3-1 victory over Leganes thanks to a hat-trick from Lionel Messi.
The Catalan giants dominated proceedings in the opening 15 minutes, although Gerard Pique squandered a decent chance to the hosts after putting the ball wide.
Messi, who started on the bench against Sevilla last weekend before helping rescue a 2-2 draw, put Barca in front this weekend by curling home fine free-kick in the 27th minute.
The lead was doubled five minutes later as Philippe Coutinho threaded a fine pass to Messi, who sent a fine finish past Ceullar from close range.
Leganes failed to provide any real attacking threat in the remaining stages of the second half as Barca went into the break leading by two goals.
Ernesto Valverde's charges continued to dominate in the second half although they did not have much joy in the final third as Leganes were intent on shutting shop at the back.
The visitors then ensured a nervy Camp Nou on 68 minutes when former Liverpool winger Nabil El Zhar found the bottom corner from the edge of the box to reduce the deficit.
The goal seemed to have sparked some life into the game as Leganes looked to claim an unlikely equaliser.
However, Messi ended all hopes of the visitors claiming a point when he completed his hat-trick with two minutes remaining to seal the win for Barca.
