Black Leopards coach Joel Masutha says injuries are the reason why their main striker Mwape Musonda has not been hitting the back of the net like he did last season.
Musonda scored 15 goals to share the NFD Golden Boot in 2017/18 with Highlands Park hitman Peter Shalulile.
However, Musonda has only struck once in six games since Leopards gained promotion to the Absa Premiership.
"He is very unfortunate when it comes to injuries," Masutha tells KickOff.com.
"Even now we have put our trust in him but the injuries are disturbing him a bit. But I believe that after this game (against Golden Arrows at Princess Magogo Stadium on Sunday) he will get a chance to recover fully so that when we play our next game after Sunday ... by the time we play Free State Stars he will be 100% right you see. He is not 100% fit, injuries ziyamkhawatha (are hurting him) and we also play him even if he is injured."
Masutha substituted Musonda as early as the 56th minute in their midweek 1-0 win over Baroka FC as the Zambian is yet to regain full fitness.
"If you remember when we played SuperSport he was not there. So obviously you can't play for 90 minutes when coming from an injury. I believe masiyodlala ne Arrows Sunday then he will give us more."
