Orlando Pirates coach Milutin ‘Sredojevic praised Jackson Mabokgwane’s performances against AmaZulu in their 1-1 draw at the King Zwelithini Stadium on Saturday.
Mabokgwane took the place of Siyabonga Mpontshane who picked up an injury during the warm-ups on Saturday evening.
“You know when one guy has the sunset other has the sunrise so the situation came that Siya got injured and Jackson came in and put on a stunning performance from aspects because he was covering the space and his shot stopping in goal was wonderful," Sredojevic told SuperSport TV.
“Also, his ball delivery he was our 11th player. He did very well and I think being without Mpontshane shows if you put a player inside he delivers and I believe he delivered today."
The Serbian also give an update on the extent of the goalkeeper’s injury.
“He has a slight problem on his muscle. We didn’t want to risk because he felt that after 10-15 minutes, he couldn’t stay in the game," he added.
“So why waste the chance to have three substitutes instead of two when he will start and come out early when you look at everything I think it has been good,”
