Juventus superstar Cristiano Ronaldo set a new Serie A goalscoring record after soaring to the summit of the league’s scoring charts.
Ronaldo, 33, proved to be the difference once again for the Italian champions this weekend as his winning goals over Sampdoria proved to be historic milestones.
The Portugal captain picked the ball up on the left-hand corner of the box, controlled and fired it across Audero and into the far corner for his 13th goal of the season to open the scoring.
This marked the record as the Portuguese player with most goals in a Serie A season, beating Rui Barrios’ 12 goals for Juventus in the 1988-89 season.

However, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner didn’t stop there, as his second goal moved him top of the Serie A scoring charts, surpassing Krzysztof Piatek of Genoa, who’s netted 13.
His exploits in the 2-1 win also saw Juve set a new league points record for the first half of the season, having dropped only four points thus far.

After failing to score in his first three league outings, Ronaldo appears to be thriving in Italy, with 14 goals and six assists in 18 starts.
