Ghana captain Gyan Asamoah claims he is strategising with his deputy Andre Ayew to end their 35-year silverware drought at this years Africa Cup of Nations.
Asamoah and Ayew have starred with the Black Stars over the past decade but have been unable to inspire their nation to silverware.
The last time the senior Ghana national team tasted silverware dates back to the 1984 finals played in Libya.
Holding extensive experience with the four-time African champions, the Turkish Super Lig based duo have been claimed in local media, not to share eye to eye.
But Gyan has dispelled the myth claiming he’s in constant contact with his second in command.
“We all know the task ahead going to the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations. We have to end the jinx this time,” Gyan told Asempa FM.
“I have been planning how to win the trophy with my deputy captain Andre Ayew. Any time I get the chance to talk to him, we plan on how best to win the trophy.
“The strategy to adopt aside technical issues and other things because Ghanaians are expecting us to win the ultimate,” the Kayserispor man added.
“There should be no excuses because as players we have to be up to the task and do what Ghanaians expect from us strategising make them happy.”
