Mamelodi Sundowns forward Anthony Laffor says they followed Pitso Mosimane’s instructions to the letter in their 2-1 win over Kaizer Chiefs.

Laffor was on target as the Brazilians maintained their unbeaten run in the Absa Premiership by seeing off the AmaKhosi on Saturday.

“First of all I’d like to say thank God. The most important thing is that we got the three points, credit to the boys. We stuck to our game play and that’s the most important thing,” Lafford said on SuperSport TV.

The Liberian added that they have a tough schedule in the second round of the season as the CAF Champions League group stages begin next week.

“Today we had a meeting, I think we have 56 games in five months, it’s not easy. But the most important thing is that we have a good squad, anyone can play [when called upon].

“The coach told us today that we should put Sundowns first and we should work for the team. I want to say thanks to the fans that came to support us at the stadiums and to those guys who sit at home to watch the game.

“Also I want to thank my family who supported me throughout my injury.

“The win means a lot because Kaizer Chiefs wants to win the league just like Sundowns so we keeping the three points is good for the team. We have a trip on Monday we’re traveling to Nigeria, it won’t be easy [in CAF Champions League],” he said.
