(CNN) — Ebola cases surpassed 800 in the Democratic Republic of Congo with more than 500 deaths, according to the country’s health ministry.
No countries bordering the DRC have reported any ebola cases as of now, according to the World Health Organization.
As part of preventative measures, health workers and other front-line responders in neighboring South Sudan began getting vaccinated in late January. The outbreak started back in August of last year.
