Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane has congratulated Bafana Bafana for qualifying for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations as CAF confirmed the pots for Friday’s draw.

Bafana booked their spot in the competition with a 2-1 victory over Libya last month, thanks to a brace by former Sundowns forward Percy Tau. Bafana finished the qualifying campaign without a defeat and conceded just two goals.

Mosimane says South Africans should not put pressure on Bafana to win AFCON, rather coach Stuart Baxter should focus on building a team that will qualify for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, to be played in Qatar.

“Good team and well done to Stuart. Percy came to the party also, of course, and the goalkeeper [Darren Keet] was good, but the whole team was good. I’m just mentioning those ones because they had an outstanding performance,” Mosimane said.

“It’s up to Stuart how he puts the team there. Let’s not put pressure on them and say they must win. No man, they have done well. We have now qualified, so let’s give them the space and let them come up. The World Cup is coming, let’s build for World Cup.”

The AFCON draw will be held on Friday evening, April 12.

“In CAF you get what you deserve. If you go to Pot A then you go to Pot A, if you go to Pot C then you go to Pot C. There’s no issues. Whatever you get, you get. There’s four groups of six, so they will get [what they get].”

CAF has revealed the pots for the draw:

Pot 1: Egypt‚ Cameroon, Senegal‚ Tunisia‚ Nigeria‚ Morocco
Pot 2: DR Congo‚ Ghana, Mali‚ Ivory Coast, Guinea, Algeria
Pot 3: South Africa, Uganda‚ Benin‚ Mauritania, Madagascar, Kenya
Pot 4: Zimbabwe, Namibia‚ Guinea-Bissau‚ Angola‚ Tanzania, Burundi
