A much-changed FC Barcelona outfit were held to a goalless draw by relegation-threatened Huesca on Saturday.
Barca rested a number of their first-team regulars ahead of their last eight second-leg meeting with Manchester United in midweek.
The new faces didn’t deter the Catalans who threatened a 16th minute lead through Ousmane Dembele’s close-range shot which Roberto Santamaria tipped round the post.
Santamaria was at it again as he guided Jean-Clair Todibo’s header into touch a minute later following a cross into the penalty area.
Huesca peppered numerous shots on the visiting goal in the final minutes, but it yielded to naught as the half concluded.
The youthful Barca started slow in the second half, with Huesca causing a few nervy moments but it was well dealt with in the end.
Pressure boiled for the hosts, as Malcom hit the post from an acute angle 57 minutes in following sloppy defending.
With Huesca hard to crack down, Ernesto Valverde called on the big guns in Jordi Alba and Phillipe Coutinho in the final quarter.
However, with neither side finding the cutting edge, the encounter ended goalless as Huesca grab a crucial point in their hopes for survival.
Barca maintain their healthy lead at the top of the table and are just a few of wins away from a third successive title.
