The strong Canadian cold front moved through Acadiana Saturday afternoon and will continue to work out into the Gulf of Mexico later tonight pulling down very cold temperatures as lows Sunday morning will be in the upper 30s to lower 40s.
Sunday we will see a fair amount of sunshine but it will still be cool for early April with highs only climbing into the low to mid 60s, which is 10° below average for this time of year.
Moving into early Monday a warm front will try to lift off the Gulf and over Acadiana creating the slight chance for a few isolated showers.
However, if we get any rain it won't last long as the front will move back over the Gulf Monday afternoon but warmer air will work over the region as highs will get back into the low to mid 70s.
Monday evening into Tuesday morning a cool front will slide down through Acadiana producing another slight chance for a few isolated showers.
Behind this front the weather will improve as high pressure moves over the eastern half of the country.
Thus we should have lots of sunshine Tuesday through Thursday with highs in the mid to upper 70s.
Friday as a southerly flow picks up across Acadiana warmer and more humid air will move over the area causing clouds to build and highs to get into the lower 80s.
Our next cool front looks to arrive Saturday producing the next best chance for widespread showers and even a few thunderstorms.
