STANDARD Chartered Bank’s Africa and the Middle East Regional Chief Executive Officer, Sunil Kaushal, is ex pected to visit the Bank’s offices in Tanzania today.
According to a statement issued by Standard Chartered Bank Tanzania Limited, Mr K aushal is visiting Tanzania as part of his regular visits to the Africa and Middle East countries which he heads. In March last year, Mr K aushal visited the bank in Tanzania as it marked its centenary anniversary, leading a delegation of over 40 of the Region’s Top Management Team members to explore further business opportunities in Tanzania as well as meet with the Bank’s various stakeholders in the country.
His visit will coincide with the Standard Chartered African Region College of Supervisors, arranged by the UK Prudential Regulation Authority and hosted by Bank of Tanzania, which will take place on Wednesday.
According to the statement, the purpose of the College is to enable the regulators to assess the key areas of risk associated with a crossborder banking group and to provide a framework for addressing key topics that are relevant to the supervision of the Standard Chartered Group.
Regulators from various countries including, Mauritius, Botswana, South Africa, Zimbabwe, K enya, Uganda, Ghana and the Gambia will attend the African Region College.
Sunil will be accompanied by Dr Ngozi Okonjo- Iweala, former Nigeria’s Minister for Finance, who is the Group’s Independent Non Executive Director, and other top ranked officials from Standard Chartered Bank UK , Malaysia, Singapore, Dubai and K enya, among others.
