Soana came a goal down to draw 1-1  with bottom side JMC in the Uganda Premier League on Tuesday at their backyard Kavumba Recreational Ground

After Ajab Abdulrahman giving the visitors the lead in the 11th minute, Soana responded two minutes later through Paddy Muhumuza. The former Lweza captain met fullback Siraje Turyamuhebwa’s cross to level proceedings, handing Alex Isabirye his first point at the club.

The Jinja outfit enjoyed a good spell away from home but were made to prolong the wait for their first win this season as they spurned their scoring opportunities.

Chances fell to Walter Rubangakene and Ajab could have returned home with a couple of goals had he been clinical enough.

The result means Soana are still searching for their first win since December 3, and with 20 games played, they remain ninth in the league standings with now 26 points.

JMC add a point to their name but remain rooted to the bottom of the league.
