Uganda: Four Students Arrested for Assaulting Teachers At School

Police in Kibaale District in western Uganda are holding four students of Karuguuza Progressive Secondary School located in Kibaale Town council for allegedly staging a fight with teachers and causing havoc in school.

The students include three boys in senior four and one girl in senior one.

Mr Andrew Tibamwenda, the school director at Karuguuza Progressive on Wednesday said that on Tuesday, two students connived and stole one of the student’s suit case and plates. The other student was reportedly found having an affair with a senior one girl.

He said that when the teachers intervened, the students retaliated by assaulting them.

The Kibaale District Police Commander, Mr David Otabong said that the students will be charged with assault and theft as police prepares to hand their files to court.

He also cautioned students against indiscipline while at school.
