Kampala — Vipers came off worse in their 1-1 draw against leaders KCCA last week with the result maintaining a four point difference between the two teams.
That margin has since improved to seven points with four games left after KCCA won at Paidha yesterday.
This further makes Vipers’ encounter away to third placed Mbarara a must-win game.
Vipers’ preparations have however been hampered by several injuries particularly defensively with Livingstone Mulondo, Ibrahim Kiyemba and Aziz Kayondo expected to start after injuries to Halid Lwalirwa, Ibrahim Tembo and Karim Niyizigimana and suspension to Yayo Lutimba.
Mbarara have on the other hand been in the news after suspending first choice goalkeeper Ali Kimera following fans’ pressure.
This was after his two costly errors directly led to goals in a 2-1 loss to SC VIlla last week.
Muhammad Ssekeba is expected to replace him in goal with Abdul Kimera set to deputise him.
The Ankole Lions are currently fourth after a run of only one win in seven games. They will again be without key forward Paul Mucureezi who also missed the game against Villa with injury.
In Njeru, a Jinja derby is on the cards as sixth placed Bul host Kirinya-Jinja with the two teams separated by a point.
