The African National Congress (ANC) in the North West says it will remember its struggle stalwart and Mkhonto we Sizwe military veteran Simon Senna as someone who gave up his family to fight for the liberation of his country.
Seventy three-year-old Senna died after a long illness.
The party’s provincial secretary Dakota Legoete says, “These are some of the most advanced detachment in a sense that they were incorruptible, they could not be infiltrated easily.”
Legoete adds: “They were not dictated by material, they were very loyal even up until today even most of them today the Luthuli detachment in our province, they don’t have houses and we want to call upon the provincial government to ensure that some of them are assisted because they left as young boys, they came back as pensioners only to earn special pension which is about R1500.”
