ANC presidential hopeful Lindiwe Sisulu says she doesn’t yet have a selection of candidates she would want to work with in the party’s top six.
She is confident that Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa would be the second-in-command.
The ANC is set to elect new leadership at the National Elective Conference in December.
Sisulu made the comments while delivering part of the OR Tambo Memorial Lecture at the University of Johannesburg.
She has also admitted that the party is facing huge challenges.
With only two months to go before the elective conference, she has called for a consultative conference to deal with the challenges.
Sisulu says under her leadership the party would refocus on self-correction.
“We are at a cross roads as the ANC and I’d like to urge all of us to follow the example of OR Tambo and call for a consultative conference,” says Sisulu.
“All of us come together and look at the problems so that when we go into the December conference we go as an ANC that’s got hope and has put despair behind it,” she adds.
