Bath have been dealt a huge blow ahead of their West Country derby against Gloucester at Kingsholm as Francois Louw has been ruled out.
The South Africa international flanker is out for the rest of the season due to a plantar fascia problem.
Ross Batty (broken nose), Luke Charteris (concussion) and Semesa Rokoduguni (knee) all remain sidelined.
However, Bath have received some positive news as it looks like England’s Joe Cokanasiga could be fit to play against Gloucester after injuring his shoulder against Bristol Bears, and Will Chudley is in line to return after suffering a hamstring injury in training last week.
England and British and Irish Lions international Anthony Watson is back in full training again this week after a year out with an Achilles’ tendon injury but will not be ready to face Gloucester.
Todd Blackadder, Bath director of rugby, told Somerset Live: “Joe’s come through really well. He’s regained the strength in his shoulder and we’re confident he’ll be okay for this weekend.
“Will’s feeling pretty good. We’re optimistic he’ll be fit and available.”
Taulupe Faletau (forearm), Paul Grant (shoulder), Henry Thomas (hamstring), Josh Bayliss (shoulder), Aled Brew (forearm), Jackson Willison (concussion), Darren Atkins (knee), and club captain Matt Garvey (ankle) are all out for the season.
