TJ Perenara may not lead the haka against Italy as there is spectulation the game will be cancelled due to the super typhoon.
World Rugby could this afternoon announce the cancellation of the All Blacks pool game against Italy in Toyota City on Saturday due to Typhoon Hagibis.
Newshub has reported that the All Blacks game and England v France will be called off.
While Stuff has not been able to confirm the cancellation, with World Rugby to hold a press conference at 4pm (NZ time), the All Blacks have delayed their 3.30pm team naming which indicates the game will be called off.
Cancelled games are regarded as scoreless draws with both teams taking two points.
The All Blacks would still top Pool B, earning a quarterfinal against the second-placed team from Pool A which could be any one of Ireland, Japan or Scotland.
Typhoon Hagibis reached super typhoon status in just 18 hours and is due to hit Japan on Saturday.
In an email to rights holding broadcasters, World Rugby says the typhoon is due to hit Tokyo, Yokohama and City of Toyota areas.
The decision to cancel the two games would not adversely affect the tournament as New Zealand, England and France would all still make the quarterfinals. South Africa will be the other team to qualify from Pool B.
However, Scotland’s decider against Japan is expected to go ahead in Yokohama 24 hours later, an England source has told the Sydney Morning Herald.
Japan will qualify top of the group should they win with Ireland in second place.
It will be the first time in in the Rugby World Cup’s 32-year history that games have been cancelled.
